HC Deb 22 July 1908 vol 193 cc70-1
MR. WEIR

To ask the President of the Board of Trade, in view of the risk of suffocation of passengers in the tube railways of London should the wooden sleepers by any accident become ignited, will he communicate with the various companies on the subject.

(Answered by Mr. Churchill.) The Board of Trade propose to await the Report of the inquiry of Colonel Yorke and Mr. Trotter into the recent fire on the City and South London Railway, before considering what action, if any, is necessary with regard to this and kindred matters.
