HC Deb 21 July 1908 vol 192 c1701
MR. LAURENCE HARDY (Kent, Ashford)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether officers of sixteen years service and upwards in the Volunteer Force will be entitled to, and will receive, the medal for long service, whether they do or do not transfer to the Territorial Force.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) The hon. Member presumably refers to the decoration for officers. The concession of the grant of the decoration after a period of sixteen years service reckoned under the Volunteer Regulations is applicable only to those Volunteer officers who have been unable to join the Territorial Force.
