HC Deb 21 July 1908 vol 192 c1692
MR. HAROLD COX (Preston)

To ask the President of the Board of Education whether he can give figures showing the total cost of public education, so far as it is met either by national or by local taxes, in the United Kingdom, in France, and in Germany, respectively.

(Answered by Mr. Runciman.) I regret that the information in the possession of the Board is not sufficiently complete or up-to-date to enable them to give statistics of any value as to France and Germany. With regard to the United Kingdom, the latest figures are contained in a Return to the order of the House issued on, 2nd August, 1906 [No. 305.]
