HC Deb 21 July 1908 vol 192 c1735
MR. GRETTON (Rutland)

I beg to ask the Prime Minister if questions of aerial navigation have received consideration by the Committee of National Defence; whether naval officers have been called into consultation; and if it is intended to entrust all experiments and construction to the military authorities.

THE PRIME MINISTER AND FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. ASQUITH,) Fifeshire, E.

This is a matter which presents both naval and military aspects, and it is not desirable to say more at present than that it is engaging the attention both of the naval and military authorities who have been, and are, in consultation with one another on the subject.

MR. ASHLEY

Is it the intention of the Government still further to reduce the sum of money granted to this important branch?

MR. ASQUITH

No, Sir.
