I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if there is any record of any foreign Power haying remonstrated with the British Government on questions of a purely domestic nature, such as restriction of importation of live cattle.

Yes, Sir. Foreign Powers have frequently objected to restrictions imposed here on the the importation of live cattle, and on matters of a similar nature.

Was the objection raised on the ground of quarantine, or on what ground?
