HC Deb 20 July 1908 vol 192 cc1477-8
MAJOR RENTON

I bog to ask the Secretary of State for War if he will state whether, if Yeomanry commanding officers are able to purchase forage locally, at no additional cost to the public, from farmers who lend fields for drill or who otherwise assist the Territorial Army, they may be permitted to do so.

MR. HALDANE

All cases where forage can be purchased locally from farmers at a price not exceeding that ordinarily obtainable under contract in the district, if submitted to this Office by the General Officer Commanding, would be specially considered.
