§ MR. C. J. O'DONNELLI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if there is a Regulation of the National Board of Education 1104 requiring the two chief inspectors of national schools to hold conferences to discuss questions relating to primary education with the inspectors, some thirty in number, subordinate to each chief inspector; and, if so, whether this Regulation has been frequently disregarded in recent years; and if he will ascertain what action the Commissioners of Education have taken or propose to take.
§ MR. BIRRELLThe Commissioners of National Education inform me that their instructions require that the chief inspectors shall hold at least one conference in the year with the inspectors of each circuit, and that these instructions are strictly followed.
