HC Deb 10 July 1908 vol 192 cc221-2
MR. J. DEVLIN (Belfast, W.)

To ask the Postmaster-General what is the length of service of each officer of the classes of assistant superintendents and overseers in the postal branch and in the telegraph branch at Belfast; how many years service each had on attaining to his present position; and how long each has been in his present position; what is the length of service of the first six sorting clerks and telegraphists in each branch, including and excluding those passed over; and what was the average length of service of officers of this class who, without previous pass over, were promoted to the class of overseers in either branch during the past four years.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) It does not appear to me that the trouble involved in obtaining the Return asked for by the hon. Member would be justified, as the information would not be of any public service.
