I beg to ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, whether his attention has been called to the fact that Section 1, subsection (3), of the Butter and Margarine Act, 1907, is not being carried into effect in Scotland; whether steps are being taken by the Local Government Board to carry out Section 2, subsection (1), of the same Act; and what action, if any, is being taken by the local authorities in Scotland to put subsection (2) of Section 1, in regard to powers of inspection, entry and sampling, into force.

To the first part of the hon. Member's Question the Answer is "Yes," and steps have and are being taken to give effect to the Act in Scotland. To the second, the Board of Agriculture are carrying out the subsection. To the third, the Board is inquiring what action is being taken.
