HC Deb 02 July 1908 vol 191 c935
VISCOUNT HELMSLEY (Yorkshire, N.R., Thirsk)

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will grant a Return showing the loans guaranteed and grants made by the Imperial Government to the British Colonies, Possessions, and Protectorates.

(Answered by Mr. Hobhouse.) The noble Lord will find the information for which he asks, as regards guaranteed loans in the annual Finance Accounts, which are presented to Parliament, and as regards grants in the Estimates. I hardly think it is necessary in the circumstances to incur the expense, which is considerable, of a Return.
