§ Major ANSTRUTHER-GRAYI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether His Majesty's Government have decided to reduce the troops in South Africa by some 4,000 men and 600 horses; and, if so, whether he can state what 1349 troops of each arm will be maintained in the various British South African Colonies, inclusive of local forces.
§ MR. HALDANEIt has been decided to withdraw from South Africa one regiment of Cavalry and four battalions of Infantry. As regards the last part of the Question, I am not at present in a position to state the detailed redistribution of the troops.
