HC Deb 24 February 1908 vol 184 c1342
MR. ARTHUE LEE

On be half of the right hon. Member for Croydon, I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War what has been the net reduction of the officers, non-commissioned officers, and men, respectively, of the Volunteer Force, since 1st October, 1905.

MR. HALDANE

The difference between the figures of 1st October, 1905, and 1st January, 1908, amounts to seventy-one officers and 12,800 men. The right hon. Gentleman will doubtless recollect that there is always a considerable diminution of the Volunteer Force in the month of October.
