HC Deb 24 February 1908 vol 184 c1339
MAJOR ANSTRUTHER-GRAY (St. Andrews Burghs)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War what reductions are contemplated with regard to the Volunteer battalions of the Black Watch under the new Territorial Army scheme.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (Mr. HALDANE, Haddington)

As I have already explained to the House in reply to similar Questions, I am not yet in a position to give any detailed information of the character required by the Question. The Question is founded on a misconception.

LORD BALCARRES (Lancashire, Chorley)

Are not the Associations directed to produce a certain number of men, and are they not, therefore, obliged to make a certain reduction?

MR. HALDANE

Yes, certainly.
