HC Deb 20 February 1908 vol 184 c1008
MR. FELL

To ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, what was the total quantity of wheat in 1907 returned under the Corn Returns Act, as being sold on the London market; and what proportion this bears to the estimated total consumption of wheat in the London area.

(Answered by Sir Edward Strachey.) The total quantity of wheat returned under The Corn "Returns Act, 1882, as purchased at Mark Lane in 1907, was 128,140 quarters. The total consumption of wheat in the London area is not a matter in regard to which precise statistics are available.
