HC Deb 14 February 1908 vol 184 c380
THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Mr. ASQUITH,) Fife, E.

Owing to the indisposition of the Chief Secretary for Ireland, it will certainly be impossible to take the debate on the Irish Motion of the hon. Member for Waterford on Monday next, and that Motion will be postponed for a short time. I hope an early day will be found when it can be taken. In consequence of that change in the business, we propose to take for the first Order on Monday the discussion on the Anglo-Russian Agreement, in regard to which Notice of Motion has been given. The second Order will be the Children Bill.

MR. J. REDMOND (Waterford)

said they much regretted the illness of the Chief Secretary, and they entirely agreed that the debate could not be satisfactorily conducted in the absence of the Minister responsible for Ireland. They hoped that in a comparatively short time after the right hon. Gentleman resumed his seat in the House the Government would be able to arrange a satisfactory date for the debate.

Whereupon Mr. SPEAKER adjourned the House without Question put, pursuant to Standing Order No.3.

Adjourned at five minutes after Five o'clock till Monday next.
