HC Deb 11 February 1908 vol 183 c1510
MR. WEDGWOOD

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will say how many males, under the age of sixteen, were convicted during 1907, in the United Kingdom of cruelty to animals and the use of indecent language.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Gladstone.) I regret that I cannot give the information which my hon. friend asks for. The figures of crime in England and Wales in 1907, will not be available for some time to come; and even when they are complete they will not enable me to answer this Question. The age of the offenders can be given only when they are apprehended, not when they are merely summoned and fined; and the use of indecent language is not a separate offence.
