COLONEL KENYON-SLANY (Shropshire, Newport)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War, whether modifications in the composition of Section A of the Army Reserve refer to the number, or to the pay, or to the terms of service of that Reserve, and to what extent they affect the surplus.
§ MR. HALDANEThe Question apparently refers to the explanatory note in the Supplementary Army Estimate. The modifications refer to the maximum number and terms of service of Section A introduced by the Territorial and Reserve Forces Act of which the hon. and gallant Member doubtless is aware. £40,000 is saved on the amount taken in Estimate for the Section.
