CHURCHILLThe death rate for all natives employed in the mines of the Transvaal for the quarter ended September 30 last was thirty-two per thousand per annum, of which twenty-eight were due to disease, but I cannot give separate figures for the natives from Portuguese East Africa. No recruiting is at present going on in the Nyassaland Protectorate.
