HC Deb 10 February 1908 vol 183 cc1392-3
MR. FETHERSTONHAUGH

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland, how long does the Judicial Commissioner anticipate it would take the Land Commission to deal with and complete the sales to the value of some 34 millions of money in respect of agreements already lodged, even if the money to pay were provided as rapidly as the Land Commission could deal with the agreements.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) This Question appears to have been framed under a misapprehension as to the functions of the Judicial Commissioner of the Land Commission. The Judicial Commissioner deals only with the distribution of the advance after the purchase has been completed, and cannot answer for the previous stages which concern the Estates Commissioners.
