HC Deb 06 February 1908 vol 183 c1078
MR. RIDSDALE (Brighton)

I beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the great growth of local expenditure and of local indebtedness, he will consider the desirability of co-ordinating the control of local and national finance.

MR. ASQUITH

I am not sure that I understand precisely what my hon. friend means by "co-ordination of control," but the whole subject of the relations of local to national finance is engaging the careful consideration of His Majesty's Government.
