§ MR. RIDSDALE (Brighton)I beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the great growth of local expenditure and of local indebtedness, he will consider the desirability of co-ordinating the control of local and national finance.
§ MR. ASQUITHI am not sure that I understand precisely what my hon. friend means by "co-ordination of control," but the whole subject of the relations of local to national finance is engaging the careful consideration of His Majesty's Government.
