HC Deb 05 February 1908 vol 183 c878
MR. LONSDALE

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he will give the names of the magistrates in Ireland who refused to convict people of offences clearly brought against them; and whether he has taken any steps to deal with this matter.

MR. BIRRELL

The Government have no power to interfere with magistrates in the exercise of their judicial discretion.
