HC Deb 05 February 1908 vol 183 c853
MR. BELLAIRS (Lynn Regis)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty, whether he can state the total sum voted for material, viz., shipbuilding, repairs, and armaments, in the German Navy Estimates of 1908–1909; and what is the corresponding sum in the British Navy Estimates for the current financial year 1907–1908.

THE SECRETARY TO THE ADMIRALTY (Mr. EDMUND ROBERTSON,) Dundee

The figure for Great Britain for 1907–1908 is £11,102,400. So far as can be gathered from the German Estimates, which have not yet been finally adopted, the corresponding figure for Germany for the year 1908–1909 will be £9,479,451.
