On behalf of the hon. Member for the Rye Division of Sussex, I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board what steps, if any, are being taken to remove the danger to the public health arising from imported meat, and to carry out the recommendations contained in Dr. Buchanan's recent Report on the subject.

I have caused regulations to be prepared under the Public Health (Regulations as to Food) Act of last session dealing with the subjects referred to in Dr. Buchanan's Report, and I am now in communication with the other Departments concerned with regard to them.
