§ in Ulster up to the end of December last; and the number of applications received, and the numbers approved of, for the provinces of Munster, Leinster, and Connaught, for the same term.
§ (Answered by Mr. Birrell.) It is presumed that the Question relates only to applications received under the Act of 1906. The first scheme under that Act was received in May last, and from then to the 31st December there were received 136 schemes, affecting 134 out of the 213 rural districts in Ireland. The first of the following tables shows how these schemes have so far been dealt with. The particulars for each of the counties in Ulster are given in the second table. If the hon. Member desires information as to the work done under former Acts, I would refer him to the Annual Report of the Local Government Board, which gives the necessary information up to the 31st March, 1907.
