HC Deb 03 February 1908 vol 183 c533
MR. LONSDALE

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that on Sunday night, 26th January, shots were fired outside the house of Mr. Cooney, a farmer at Carrowbane, near Gort, with an intimidatory purpose; whether this farmer has been previously molested, and on what grounds; and whether any action has been taken in reference to the matter.

MR. BIRRELL

The facts are as stated in the first part of the Question. In the month of December last part of a boundary fence on Mr. Cooney's farm was injured. The police have made full inquiries in the matter, but so far have not succeeded in bringing the offender to justice.
