HC Deb 21 December 1908 vol 198 c2356
MR. McLAREN (Staffordshire, W.)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the fact that much dissatisfaction continues to be felt among workmen that payment under the Workmen's Compensation Acts does not commence in each case from the date of the accident, he intends to take steps to introduce an amending Bill next session.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Gladstone.) I could not undertake to introduce an amending Bill without further experience of the working of the Act of 1906, even if there were not other more pressing subjects for legislation. I may add that I have received no representations as to the dissatisfaction to which my hon. friend refers.
