BELLOCI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many men were imprisoned in Brixton prison during the year 1906 for failure to pay the full amount due from them under a separation order; what has been the average length of such imprisonment; what was the average amount due when the imprisonment began; and what was the largest due in any one particular case when the imprisonment began.
§ MR. GLADSTONEThe Answer to the first part of the Question is 286; to the second, twenty-eight days; to the third, £7 19s.; and to the fourth, 1255 £217 13s. 6d. Prisoners of this class were not received at Brixton prison prior to 1st June, 1908.
