HC Deb 14 December 1908 vol 198 c1219
MR. J. MURPHY (Kerry, E.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Estates Commissioners are aware that threats of legal proceedings have been made to the tenants on the Kenmare estate, County Kerry, who have expressed their willingness to purchase at the prices offered by the landlord; and if the Commissioners can take any steps to effect a settlement in such cases, having regard to the fact that the estate is now before them for sale.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Estates Commissioners have no knowledge of the threats referred to. As regards the remainder of the Question, I would refer the hon. Member to my reply to the Question asked by him on the 7th instant.
