RAMSAY MACDONALD (Leicester)I beg to ask the Secretary of State or the Home Department whether, in view of the large number of accidents to workmen employed on buildings in course of construction and demolition, he will consider the advisability of issuing special regulations under the Factory and Workshop Act embodying the recommendations of the Departmental Committee.
§ MR. GLADSTONEAs I have pointed out in answer to previous Questions this session, the recommendations of the Committee cannot be carried out without further legislation, and it was for this purpose, among others, that I introduced this session the Building Operations and Engineering Works Bill. I hope to reintroduce the Bill early next session.
