HC Deb 10 December 1908 vol 198 cc719-20
MR. T. F. RICHARDS (Wolverhampon, W.)

To ask the Secretary of State or the Home Department whether he has any official information as to the number of hours worked per day, also the aggregate hours per week, of the horse omnibus conductors and drivers, and the motor omnibus drivers and conductors employed in London, and the wages paid; and whether, with a view to securing the safety of the public, he proposes to take any action in the matter.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Gladstone.) I am not fully informed on this subject, and I have not had time to consider the matter since the appearance of the Question. It must be remembered, however, that the hours worked by drivers and conductors is a matter over which I have no direct authority.
