O'GEADY (Leeds, E.)I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether his Board has received an application from the town council of Brighouse for sanction to create a distress committee; whether any reply has yet been given to the application; and, if so, what were the terms of the reply.
§ MR. JOHN BURNSI received on the 30th October an application from the town council of Brighouse for an Order establishing a Distress Committee for the borough, to which I replied on the 4th November, asking for certain information to enable mo to deal with the matter. To this letter I have not at present received any reply.
