MR. M'HUGH (Sligo, N.)

To ask Mr. Attorney-General for Ireland whether, in connection with the trial of the Geevagh, County Sligo, traversers at the Connaught Winter Assizes in Limerick, he has been informed by the Crown Solicitor for Comity Sligo that persons had come from Sligo to Limerick for the purpose of influencing the jurors; will he inform the House as to the names of the persons against whom this charge is made; and will he lay upon the. Table of the House a copy of the charge preferred against those persons by the Crown Solicitor.

(Answered by Mr. Cherry.) The communications made to me by the Crown Solicitor are strictly confidential. I cannot mention the names of any of the persons believed to be concerned in this matter, and I cannot undertake to lay upon the Table any documents in connection with it.
