LONSDALEI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is in a position to give particulars of the attack made upon a police patrol at Gurteen, County Gal-way, on Saturday night, by a party of armed men in ambush; what injuries were inflicted upon the police; and how many arrests were made.
§ MR. BIRRELLTwo arrests were made in this case, and the prisoners have been returned for trial. The case is, therefore, sub judice, and it is not desirable to enter into particulars.
