HC Deb 02 December 1908 vol 197 c1441
MR. MCHUGH

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether agreements for the purchase of the Verschoyle estate, at Tanrago, Beltra, County Sligo, were signed over twelve months ago; has the sale been completed; and, if not, will he state the cause of the delay.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Estate Commissioners inform me that the agreements referred to must have been provisional agreements indicating the terms at which the tenants would be prepared to purchase. The estate is pending for sale in the Court of the Land Judge, to whom the Commissioners have made an offer under Section 7 of the Irish Land Act, 1903.
