§ MR. BELLAIRS (Lynn Regis)To ask the First Lord of the Admiralty on what date was H.M.S. "Defence," of 14,600 tons, laid down; whether he can state by what date her trials will be completed; and whether any of the German ships laid down in 1904 or 1905 are still awaiting trials.
§ (Answered by Mr. McKenna.) H.M.S. "Defence" was laid down on the 22nd February, 1905. It is expected that her trials will be completed by the middle of next month. There are no German ships laid down in 1904 or 1905 still awaiting trials.
