HC Deb 30 April 1908 vol 187 c1378
MR. ASHLEY (Lancashire, Blackpool)

To ask the Secretary of State for War if he will state what arrangement he has made with the Court of Verderers with reference to the proposed military manœuvres in the New Forest.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.)

As I have already explained, I convened a conference at the War Office, which was attended by representatives of the Office of Woods and Forests, by the Court of Verderers, and by representatives of the Commons Preservation Society and others. As a result of a very full discussion of this question, a draft agreement with the Verderers has been received from Mr. Birkett, the legal advisor of the Commons Preservation Society, and this is now being considered by my legal advisers.
