HC Deb 27 April 1908 vol 187 c1029
MR. O'SHEE (Waterford, W.)

To ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that the Dungarvan Urban Council has passed a resolution objecting to the heavy burden imposed on Ireland by the extra duty on sugar, which presses severely on the poor; and whether he will consider the remission of the same favourably.

(Answered by Mr. Asquith.) Yes, Sir. I have received a copy of the Resolution in question through my right hon. friend the Chief Secretary, and, like all other representations on the subject of taxation, it will receive careful consideration.
