HC Deb 02 April 1908 vol 187 c669
MR. LONSDALE (Armagh, Mid.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether the movable columns on the North West frontier of India are fully equipped with transport, commissariat, and medical services, and ready to march immediately in case of need.

MR. MORLEY

The movable columns on the North West frontier of India are all ready to march at a moment's notice. The staff and various units are detailed and schemes exist for the immediate mobilisation of the columns when required. The additional supplies, etc., necessary to enable them to keep the field are so located as to be obtainable at short notice.
