HC Deb 01 April 1908 vol 187 cc503-4
MR. WATT (Glasgow, College)

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether the Scottish Education Bill, introduced last week, in assimilating the School Board franchise to the Parliamentary franchise will deprive women of the votes they now have in the election of School Boards.

MR. SINCLAIR

The Bill makes provision for assimilating the School Board franchise not to the Parliamentary franchise, but to the Parish Council franchise under which women are admitted as electors. I regret that in introducing the Bill I inadvertently spoke of the Parliamentary instead of the Parish Council franchise.

MR. WATT

When will the print of the Bill be in the hands of Members?

MR. SINCLAIR

On Friday, I hope.
