§ MR. PATRICK WHITETo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, when a convict is sentenced to be flogged, more than one warder has ever been employed to administer the flogging.
(Answered by Mr. Secretary Gladstone.) As a rule only one warder is employed, but in a recent case, where four convicts had to be punished, two warders were employed.
