I beg to ask the President of the Board of Education whether he will grant a Return showing the excess of school-places over average attendance in the elementary schools in the area of each local authority in England during the past year.

Table 19 in the Statistical Volume issued by the Board gives the number of school-places, and the average attendance in the area of each local education authority for the statistical year ending 31st July, 1906. The figures for 1906–7 will be published in the next volume.
