HC Deb 16 May 1907 vol 174 c1087
MR. FETHERSTONHAUGH

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether it is proposed, and, if so, when and how, to confer upon the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in Ireland the jurisdiction to issue writs of certiorari, mandamus, and prohibition for the purpose of enabling it to exercise the powers conferred on it by Clause 17 of the Irish Councils Bill.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Judicial Committee referred to in Clause 17 of the Bill is the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, and not of the Privy Council in Ireland. There is no Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in Ireland, save for the purpose of hearing appeals under Section 10 (3) (d) of The Local Government (Ireland) Act, 1898.
