HC Deb 16 May 1907 vol 174 c1111
MR. MACLEAN (Bath)

I beg to ask the Prime Minister whether, in forthcoming legislative proposals in relation to land, he will insert provisions for relieving the hardships of tenants in urban areas in England and Wales, granting to such tenants powers similar to those included in the Town Tenants (Ireland) Act of last session, and also liberty to enfranchise long leaseholds.

THE PRIME MINISTER AND FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Sir H. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN,) Stirling Burghs

I am afraid I cannot hold out any hope to my hon. friend that the Bills to be introduced this session will contain the provisions he desires, but the matter will not be lost sight of.
