MR. LONSDALE (Armagh, Mid.)

To ask the Secretary of State for India whether it is intended to open up negotiations with China for the opening of a trade route along the ancient road from the north-east corner of Assam, via Rima, into the Chinese provinces of Sze-chuan.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Morley.) The Answer is in the negative. The Government of India have no intention of opening up the trade route mentioned.
