HC Deb 15 May 1907 vol 174 cc966-7
MR. LONSDALE

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether Mr. Timothy O'Rorke, J.P., has been appointed by the Congested Districts Board for taking and settling grazing cattle on derelict farms they have on hand.

MR. BIRRELL

Mr. O'Rorke and other local persons have been appointed for a few days, as was done last year, to assist the Congested Districts Board's stock-master in taking cattle to graze on lands which are in the Board's hands pending their division into new holdings.

MR. LONSDALE

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that Mr. O'Rorke was on the platform at a United Irish League meeting, when advice was given by one of the speakers that certain persons should be boycotted?

MR. BIRRELL

I think he is much better engaged in taking cattle to graze on the land.
