HC Deb 15 May 1907 vol 174 cc948-9
MR. W. NICHOLSON (Hampshire, Petersfield)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War if he is aware that the hospital at Alton, Hants, which was presented to the War Office by the subscribers to the Daily Mail Fund during the South African War, is no longer in use as an Army hospital; if he can state the reasons why the hospital has been closed; and if it is the intention of the War Office to dispose of it by sale.

MR. J. A. PEASE (Essex, Saffron Walden)

My right hon. friend has asked me to reply to this. This hospital is no longer in use as an Army hospital as there is ample accommodation in the other Army hospitals at Aldershot. It is not at present proposed to dispose of the building by sale.
