I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any progress has yet been made in the negotiations between this country and other Powers with a view to the substitution of a new treaty for that of 1855 with, reference to Sweden and Norway.

The negotiations to which the hon. Member refers are still under consideration, and, for the reason given in my reply to a similar Question on 11th April,† I am unable to make any statement concerning them.
