To ask the Postmaster-General whether the late Government had decided to transfer the Irish portion of the Post Office Savings Bank from London to Dublin shortly before the Dunraven devolution scheme was discussed in the public Press; if so, will he say why the late Government abandoned the carrying out of such transfer; and how many Savings Bank clerks were asked at that time whether they would serve in Dublin in case of a change.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) There was not, so far as I am aware, any decision such as that mentioned by the hon. Member.
