I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War what compensation has been or will be granted to Gunner Crossan, of the Fife Royal Garrison Volunteer Artillery, who met with an accident in the pursuance of his duty on His Majesty's service on 13th April last.

The case is being dealt with by the General Officer Commanding in Chief under the provisions of paragraph 618 Volunteer Regulations. Crossan will receive a gratuity of 3s. 6d. a day for the period, not exceeding 6 months, during which he is prevented from following his civil employment. In the event of his discharge from the corps as a result of the accident he would be eligible for pension under the Royal Warrant.
