§ MR. ASHLEYI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether it will be possible to enlist in the Territorial Army for a particular battalion, regiment, or military body, or whether enlistment will only be permitted for general service under the county association.
§ MR. HALDANEThe actual enlistment will be in the terms of Clause 8 of the Bill, and may be for a particular arm or unit. The Association will, of course, decide what vacancies there are, but as far as possible men will be enabled to choose their own units, in the same manner as at present prevails in the Militia.
